Observatory for Sport in Scotland

Our Work & Partners

OSS sees collaboration at the core of its work and looks forward to working with many partners at home and abroad.

The University of the West of Scotland (UWS)

OSS signed a Memorandum of Understanding with UWS August 2016. This was a strong show of support for a newly formed OSS from a respected academic institution and both parties hope a strong and beneficial partnership will develop over time.

Depute Principal Professor Paul Martin CBE said:

“With the aim of improving the wellbeing of all parts of Scottish society, OSS wants to use the tools of original research and robust analysis to fill a gap in the knowledge and understanding of Scotland’s sporting life. Using academic skills to achieve positive and tangible outcomes is very much aligned with the aims of UWS and we look forward to working with OSS going forward.”

Recently Prof Richard Davison has agreed to lead the OSS Research Advisory Group (RAG) and UWS and OSS have been exploring bidding for a pan-European project involving 4 or 5 partners. More on this in due course………….!

The University of Stirling

OSS was pleased to support Dr Mathieu Winand of Stirling University in a multi-partner bid for project funding from the Canadian Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council.
